The Rocket Store

Had lunch here last week, it was superb! Loved the food, staff were great. We had, oysters, scallops and the Red Mullet. All was devoured with Cremant and a Hibiscus iced tea, perfect for a hot day after a walk around the hills. An easy recommend.

We found this place by chance, and we are so glad we did. I don't normally write reviews, but this place is amazing. A small personal restaurant with a great atmosphere and every dish we tried was amazing. Quality and skill in every dish. Well worth going to for a treat and an experience. And in a beautiful location. And being Gluten free was no problem, as most dishes we naturally GF.

Amazing food, great fresh ingredients, they even do some local foraging, you can taste it. I'm not easily amazed, but the way the dishes are put together, was beautiful, artfully and full of love. The flavours were mind blowing and confusing in a good way. I will be back. Oh yes try the non alcoholic cocktails they are spot on.

We had a delicious lunch at The Rocket Store yesterday. Oysters and Sardines were as good as they look but the stand out was the crab orzo with rosemary crumb. Finding out they are the sister restaurant to our local cafe/ deli in Acton where we live, was also rather exciting. Highly recommend.

What a treat! The staff at the Rocket Store were very helpful explaining the various offerings. The first dishes to arrive on our table were the mutabal and tomato, green chilli with grilled bread which were all incredibly tasty. Next up were some absolutely delicious grilled scallops. Followed by the devine celeriac and wild mushrooms . A special mention also has to go to the grilled leeks as well as the asparagus which were outstanding. We greatly enjoyed the chickpeas, torched seabass sashimi, lamb lab and the red mullet. Every single dish was exceptional. I can’t stress how much we enjoyed our meal. The chefs are true masters of their craft. Thanks for making our evening so memorable.

A Hidden Gem by the Harbour - The Rocket Store, Boscastle Paul and I had the most incredible lunch at The Rocket Store in Boscastle. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm, friendly service, and the food was simply outstanding. What made it even more special was the chance to chat directly with the talented brigade in the open kitchen – a rare and wonderful experience. We can’t recommend it highly enough. Once a humble building constructed in 1898 to house horse-drawn, rocket-firing equipment for the coastguard, The Rocket Store has been beautifully reimagined as a seafood and small plates haven. Perched on Boscastle’s inner harbour wall, the restaurant’s brick exterior stands in charming contrast to the village’s iconic whitewashed cottages. When the sun shines, the outdoor courtyard becomes a perfect spot for a leisurely meal, with the sea breeze adding to the magic. The menu is ever-changing – sometimes daily – driven by what’s fresh and available. The focus is firmly on locally sourced ingredients: seafood comes from the family’s own boat, while meat and vegetables are supplied by their nearby farm. The result is an inspired selection of small plates that celebrate the best of Cornwall’s larder. To complement the food, there’s a carefully curated list of classic and natural wines, alongside bespoke cocktails and organic beers. And for those with furry friends, you’ll be pleased to know that small, well-behaved dogs are welcome too. If you find yourself in Boscastle, do yourself a favour and seek out The Rocket Store. Food was absolutely delicious. Seasoned perfectly, fresh, tasty, cooked to perfection. The staff were so friendly and the location/setting is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

It's just incredible. So pleased we stopped here. We didn't have a booking, but we were early for lunch, so we were lucky to get a table. The staff were friendly; especially the blonde lady who managed to move us to a table inside as it was blowing a gale that day! So hard to choose as the menu is fantastic. We loved the grilled oysters with the nam pla dressing, crab orzo and the leeks with Davidstow cheddar were sensational. Just wish I lived closer so I could visit more often!
